Michelle Marie Sharp
Michelle has made it her ambition to live a quiet life and work with her hands. She is an Albuquerque based artist who is originally from California. Her studio is her outdoor patio, providing her stimulating inspiration throughout the year.
Her work is an experiment in disruption of a commonly viewed (or entered) space. The viewer looks (or moves) through physically or spiritually this creation of ethereal space and is moved to think about the motions and places they were going.
The layers (or screens) in her works are like waves because the space that makes her think most about physicality and where she is going in this life (and in the after life) is the ocean.
In describing a particular work she has said, “Each layer of screens caused a greater disruption of sight, and as you moved through them the sight would clear, as if being in a stormy, wave riddled beach side.”
Another important concept in her paintings is The Cognitive Relationship Between Objects and Ideas.
